The latest innovation in microdermabrasion technology is called Hydrodermabrasion.
Hydrodermabrasion has taken over in popularity from microdermabrasion, this is due in part to the fact that the treatment utilises the natural healing powers of water and oxygen to effortlessly, and painlessly exfoliate the skin without the use of hard micro crystals or abrasive textured wands. Hydrodermabrasion treatments provide deeply hydrated, firmer, smoother, and healthier looking skin.
Benefits of Hydrodermabrasion
Healthy, soft and younger looking skin
Improved skin texture and tone
Reduced fine lines and wrinkles
Deeper hydration of the skin
Improved blood flow leading to collagen production
Reduced/improved acne, acne scars and blackheads/whiteheads
Unwanted pigmentation, including freckles and spots
Improved dark or puffy eyes
Skin congestion, etc
As an added benefit, hydrodermabrasion will allow the skin to better absorb skin care products, which will make them much more effective.
One may opt to get one treatment done, or a series of sessions can be done to create optimal results. A one-time treatment is perfect for those that want to rejuvenate the skin. More treatments will be needed for eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. It is recommended to do 6 to 10 sessions that have been scheduled 10 to 14 days apart. Prices will vary based on where the treatment is being performed on the body. Hydrodermabrasion can be done on the face, neck, decollete, hands, back and the elbows.

Before and After Care
Before having hydrodermabrasion done, consult your professional skin technician. Those who have been treated with isotretinoin for severe acne within the past 12 months will not be eligible for this procedure, nor will those with active skin infections, such as herpes or cold sores. Those who have a history of skin not healing properly are also not suitable for this treatment.
After hydrodermabrasion, you will want to baby the skin with sunscreen to protect it. Use at least an SPF of 30 and try to avoid the sun’s rays if at all possible. Further protect yourself by wearing a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses.
