With the Fotona QX Max laser, all common tattoo colours can be removed; black and dark tones, blues and sky blues, reds and tans, and greens. Laser affects the tattoo with very short and strong laser pulses that penetrate deep into the skin, without injuring the top layers. These pulses are then absorbed by the pigments in the ink which breaks them up into smaller particles. These are then naturally absorbed by the body’s own immune system.
People who have had tattoo removal by laser say that it feels like a rubber band snapping the skin. The number of treatments depends on the size of your tattoo as well as its location, depth and colour. Amateur tattoos are the easiest to remove whereas professional ones may require more treatment sessions. Tattoos with thin lines and shading respond very well to laser treatments and you’ll see relatively fast results. The tattoo will fade slowly between treatments as your body removes the remainder of the tattoo pigment. Some tattoos contain a heavier concentration of ink and therefore require more sessions.
Our laser allows our clients to remove their tattoo/s while keeping the power at safe levels. Inferior quality lasers do much more damage to your skin and can remove your pigment as they do not have adjustable fluence levels.
For most clients, we are able to completely remove an unwanted tattoo in 3 to 14 laser treatments (more or less) spaced 6 – 8 weeks apart.
Tattoos have been around for at least 5,000 years. The interest in removing them is just about as old. Many of the techniques to remove tattoos in the past have produced less than desirable results. Dermabrasion, or sanding of the tattoo, chemicals, or even the older CO2 or Argon lasers removed tattoos but left undesirable scars.
Fotona QX MAX – Q-Switched Nd:Yag Laser
Due to its high-energy, single pulse technology, Fotona Q-Max delivers outstanding results in the correction of all sort of pigmentation disorders, tattoo removal and vascular lesions, even with single sessions. Since the single-pulses are not affected by the optical shielding phenomenon arising from pigment destruction, the efficiency and efficacy of each treatment is maximized. The single-pulse technology also allows better targeting and removal of deeper lying pigments, setting high standards for safety levels in laser treatments. Additionally Fine Hair Removal is also available, so that you can get rid of the unaesthetic “fluff” in located areas of the body like face, neck or arms, for example.
The feeling of an even, smoother and clearer surface of your skin is what you will achieve with this treatment with no downtime associated. Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser is particularly suited for the treatment of Asian skin types due to its specific system of ultra-short pulses, which is optimal for the sensitivity of this skin type.
